feelhandsome

I work in the creative industries and have recently returned to photography after many years away from it. Picking up a camera again has reminded me how direct and honest the medium can be. A photograph can capture something in a person that they may not always see in themselves.

My work focuses on men over forty. As we age, our relationship with our bodies inevitably changes. The way we see ourselves in the mirror is not always generous.

I want the men I photograph to feel handsome, sexy, and comfortable in their own skin, so I work slowly, allowing time for them to settle, talk, and become familiar with the set up. The photographs emerge from that atmosphere rather than from heavy direction.

I work from a small studio in Hackney, London. Most sessions take place during weekday daytimes.
