Colin got in contact with me a couple of months ago about booking me for a shoot that was being hosted by Unique Photoshoots and this was an opportunity to shoot in a derelict college in Wiltshire.. and boy, am I glad he got in touch!
We spoke about the shoot in pre comms and I pre-warned that I don't function too well in the cold, considering it was an erotic nude booking. We spoke about how we could make it more comfortable for me if it was a cold day, which made me feel more relaxed and happy to shoot. We spoke a bit about what Colin wanted to shoot, and as it was a duo booking he sent me across the link to his friends portfolio who'd id be shooting with - all in all brilliant precomms!
We got back in touch before the shoot and saw it was gunna be 3 degrees, we both decided to go ahead with the shoot anyway. Colin was very understanding when I was expressing my concerns and agreed to a few rules I had in place (like not shooting for more than 15mins a time if nude etc) and he said he'd bring along hand warmers for me and a big coat I could use between sets.
On the day of the shoot I had a little wobble being worried about how cold it was and how well id be able to perform and pose, and how easy it'd be to catch hypothermia! But Colin again was understanding and said if I needed to stop at any point it was fine, wed have many breaks so I could warm up etc. When I arrived he greeted me with a smile and is really easy to talk to and get along with.
Now - during the shoot he was an absolute star! Hes extremely laid back and makes you feel at ease, his sense of humour shone through and made the day go by quicker and helped me forget the cold. He gave me the hand warmers and coat as promised and he was always making sure I was warm enough to do the next set, and wed shoot 10ish pics a time before he'd tell me to put my dressing gown on and warm up,
On top of all of that, hes a talented photographer who knows his lighting. He has creative ideas and a vision, he'd fiddle around with lighting to get things right and again made sure I was warm if he needed to move a light etc. He was happy to direct me as we wanted to get the shot asap, and wed review the images after and go for another short burst of images.
All in all, Colin is a lovely guy who clearly respects and puts the models comfort first. Hes a great photographer to work with and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to any model.
Thanks Colin!
