I love the new layout for the "competition overview" where you have the active, upcoming and historical competitions clearly separated on different tabs. Very neat.
The competition screen itself presents the images in random order, it doesn't show number of votes until you have cast your vote, and it doesn't show the number of likes each image has received. That's great, because it ensures an equal field where none of the images have any unfair advantages, thus helping to ensure each image is judged on its merits.
However, on the "active competition overview" it appears that the image chosen to represent each of the current competitions is always the front-runner. That ensures the voter has seen a large version of that image even before getting to the voting screen, and thus gives that image an unfair advantage.
Would it be possible to randomise the images shown on the "active competition overview" so that everybody is served a random image for each of the three current competitions, and thus the playing field gets levelled again?
Similarly on the "upcoming view". Every time I go in to look at the "upcoming view overview" I get shown the same images, suggesting that there is also some bias built in here rather than a randomised view.
